DINING

The Burning Tree: Frommer's Review - On Route 3 between Bar Harbor and Northeast Harbor, this is an easy restaurant to speed by, but that would be a mistake. This low-key place, with its bright, open, and sometimes noisy dining room, serves the freshest food in the area. Much of the produce and herbs come from its own gardens; the rest of the ingredients are supplied locally whenever possible. Seafood is the specialty, and it's prepared with imagination and skill. The menu changes often to reflect local availability. Typical entrees might include prosciutto-wrapped sea scallops, Maryland-style crab cakes with a roasted jalapeño tartar sauce, or squash ravioli with rosemary cream.

Route. 3, Otter Creek Reservations recommended.

Carlos Ristorante: Carlos Ristorante on Main Street in beautiful downtown Southwest Harbor, features authentic Sicilian cuisine, lovingly prepared each day by chef Marcos, a third generation sicilian chef. Carlos Ristorante offers an intimate, soothing atmosphere for casual fine dining. Carlos' extensive menu features traditional Sicilian food, such as Pasta alla Norma with caponata, a Sicilian national dish; Braccioles, beef wrapped around richly flavored stuffing; and timballes, Carlos signature dishes, pies filled with aromatic treats.

Deckhouse Restaurant and Cabaret Theatre: The Deck House Restaurant and Cabaret Theatre is entering its twenty seventh season as one of New England's premier dining and entertainment establishments. Our original mission remains the same: good food, good service, and good entertainment. The "audience" generally arrives somewhere between 6:30 and 7:45 PM and orders from a full dinner menu (children's portions available on some menu entrees). Around 8:15, after most diners have been served their main courses, the houselights dim, and, while continuing service, the wait staff become the Players and present a "show" which consists of 13 individual numbers, a delightful mixture of solos, duets, quartets, and full group numbers.

Downeast Lobster Bake: Be there with your appetite and camera when the cover is lifted and reveals a colorful blend of lobsters, steamers and corn-on-the-cob amidst a cloud of steam.

The Edenfield Restaurant: The Edenfield Restaurant serves both breakfast and dinner.  Have a cocktail in the lounge before you enjoy a fantastic dinner prepared by our talented team of chefs, serving culinary delights with the moonlit ocean as a romantic backdrop.  The Edenfield offers one of the most beautiful ocean views in Bar Harbor.

Havana Restaurant: Havana is American fine dining with a Latin flair, great atmosphere and an extensive wine list. The menu features seafood, lamb, and meat dishes and changes weekly and sometimes daily.

Jordan Pond House: The dining traditions of Jordan Pond House date back to the late 1800's. During that era teahouses were established to cater to the growing number of sophisticated summer visitors. Today, Jordan Pond House continues these dining traditions featuring our famous baked popovers and homemade ice cream, fresh Maine seafood, and the finest poultry, meats and vegetables. We invite all Acadia's visitors to share in this unique dining experience surrounded by the mountains, forests, and waters of Jordan Pond.

Lompoc Cafe & Brewpub: The Lompoc opened in 1989 as a small café and gradually evolved into what it is today: a slightly larger small café. Over the years, we have enlarged the space, adding a garden, a bocce court, a larger bar and a heated open air dining room.

We change our menu three times a year, every year, because we choose to use seasonal fish and locally grown, organic produce, and because we like to try new things. Some items return due to requests and some we can never change.

We have been recommended by "The New York Times", "Gourmet Magazine", "Yankee Magazine Travel Guide" and were voted the regional winner of "favorite restaurant" in a 2002 contest sponsored by the Maine Department of Agriculture.

Michelle's Fine Dining Bistro: Michelle's Fine Dining Bistro creates a romantic interlude for any occasion. Your choice of a table by our beautiful bay window, the fireside casting a warm glow, or candlelit dining under a canopy of trees and stars will surely be a memorable experience. Our chef creates perfection, delectability and design in our French American cuisine with a New England flair. It is truly a fine dining experience.Call us for any special occassions. Weddings are our specialty.

Parkside: Parkside is a fine dining establishment serving classic, regional Maine cuisine (lobster, seafood dishes, steak), and is open seasonally from May – November.

The restaurant’s dining area and porch both overlook the park in quaint downtown Bar Harbor, and the ambiance is a combination of comfort and class.  This is revealed in both the décor and family-friendly atmosphere enjoyed equally by tourists and locals alike.

We have the best selection of single malt scotch, hard-to-get cigars, microbrews, and wine around. Trenton Bridge Lobster Pound: On the right, just before crossing onto Mount Desert Island, is a very special family operated business that has been providing visitors with the best lobster, steamed clams, lobster stew, and more, that Downeast and the Acadia Region of Maine has to offer since the 1950's. This is well worth a visit!

Union River Lobster Pot Restaurant: Lobster is now being served on the banks of the Union River. In 1996 Brian and Jane Langley opened the Union River Lobster Pot on the site previously known as the Port of Call Seafood Market.
